Browserless is on a mission to take the pain out of scaling browser automations. This includes using Playwright, Puppeteer or our REST APIs, for tasks such as data extraction, asset generation and automated testing.
We work with any company size, from solo businesses up to Fortune 25. We have experienced a rapid growth this year, so are looking to expand our team with a Senior Product Engineer.
Browserless is a purely remote company, with employees across North America, Central America and Europe.
Core Responsibilities
- Care deeply about web automation libraries, know how they work, and can identify gaps and potential features.
- Be the primary owner of, and build out, core products at Browserless.
- Work with our existing customers, sales, and engineering teams to help shape and build products and features users care about.
- Help users on our open source repositories and other online communities.
- Participate in communities like Puppeteer and Playwright’s Discord channels.
Desired Experience & Skills
- 10 years of industry experience working as an engineer in modern Typescript or NodeJS-based applications.
- Ability to “hit the ground running” and be autonomous in your daily work.
- Deep experience in how projects like Puppeteer and Playwright work, including protocols like Chrome Devtools Protocol.
- Has worked in several projects with these libraries, and can speak to their issues and strengths.
- Understanding of how services like captcha solving and proxying work.
- Track record of ownership of technical projects.
- Have a show-not-tell mindset, mentoring others on the team.
- Familiarity with Docker and how containers work.
Other Considerations
- Previous experience in startups and early teams.
- Previous scraping and automation experience.
- A curious mindset and openness to novel ideas.
- Determined to find solutions when none might be present.
- Data-driven mindset: while we place a strong emphasis on novel and new solutions, being able to back it up with data is of utmost importance.
